The YWCA Children's Center at Family Court has proudly cared for thousands of Orange County children exclusively for 21 years, in a safe and nurturing environment as their parents attend court proceedings! The program, funded primarily through a New York State grant, has experienced severe budget cuts over recent years, forcing the services to be reduced from a full-day to half-day capacity. Even with the reduction of hours, as of November 2019, we have cared for over 980 children! This is such an essential need for our community, and we are confident that the service is needed in a full-day capacity. We are on a mission to raise funding to be able to keep the center open all day! Click here to DONATE to help us accomplish this mission, or contact us to discuss how you can help!
Our Director, Helen, has been dedicated to these children, maybe even your child, for 20 years! She is excited for this possibility. She's very passionate about caring for the children, always providing healthy snacks in a safe, clean and nurturing environment. Every day has a craft or educational game ready to be applied to the varying ages that may enter her door. Unlike a daycare facility, Helen and her dedicated team of Assistant's never knows what to expect, what age, needs, dietary requirements...
"The peace of mind that I had knowing that my kids were safe, there were healthy snacks, and it was free made it much easier for me to concentrate on my court issue. It was also good because I didn't have to find someone to watch them" -Dahlia, Parent
